Mrs.
Delancy's Classroom Rules and Expectations
Attendance Policy:
-
You are only permitted
to have two unexcused tardies per quarter.
-
Unexcused tardies count
as the following:
-
Not being in your
seat when the tardy bell rings.
-
Not having materials
needed for class. (Textbook, binder, writing utensil, homework)
-
Using your agenda to
leave the classroom for any reason.
-
The third, fourth, etc.,
unexcused tardy are each a detention held in my classroom.
Homework:
-
Homework will be
assigned on a regular basis and does count into your grade. The whole
assignment must be completed to count as a complete assignment.
-
Each homework assignment
is due at the beginning of class. I will not accept it after i have
collected the assignment or been around to check that the assignment
is complete.
-
If you are absent, your
homework is due the day you return, even if it is not a day we have
class. Also, it is your responsibility to check to see if any homework
was assigned the day you missed class.
-
Late assignments are
only accepted the day after they are due (the day class does not meet
by 7:25 a.m.). The late assignment will automatically drop one number
grade. After the one-day late, absolutely NO assignments will
be accepted!
Absent Policy:
-
If you are absent, it is
your responsibility to see me for the work you missed BEFORE
our next class. I will not come and find you. If you do not see me for
your assignment, you will not get credit for the assignment.
-
If you miss a test you
must make it up before or after school. Tests cannot and will not be
made up during class time. You must make up the test the first day you
return to school.
Cheating:
-
Cheating will NOT be
tolerated. Cheating is classified as copying someone's work on
individual homework assignments, quizzes, tests or plagiarizing.
Anyone caught cheating will receive a 0% for that particular
assignment, a double detention, and your parents will be notified.
Grading Scale:
-
I use the point system
to grade. Homework assignments are weighted less than quizzes, tests
and papers.
-
The points will than be
converted to a percentage that corresponds with the school's 6.0
grading scale.
Miscellaneous:
-
Do not touch anything
that does not belong to you.
-
Respect all people in
the classroom, including other students, visitors, and substitutes.
-
If you disrespect a
substitute, you will receive a double detention from me when I return,
plus you will still be responsible for any punishment given during my
absence.
-
Have a positive
attitude.
-
Feel free to see me at
any time for anything you do not understand or need clarified.
-
Only five extra credit
points are possible per semester. These points will be offered at my
discretion.
