Bridge Program courses serve as a transition to college. The curriculum for each course is approved by the University, and the high school schedule allows more instructional hours and more frequent class meetings than typical college schedules. Students enroll through the University of Evansville. The courses are taught at the high school, by high school teachers. Course offerings vary from semester to semester. Bridge courses may be from areas including the natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics, humanities, fine arts, and foreign languages. Students pay a special tuition rate, which is significantly less than the tuition for on-campus courses. Each student receives University of Evansville credit for courses taken and the student's grades for the courses are recorded on a UE transcript. Most colleges and universities accept credits earned in the Bridge Program as a university level credit; however, a few may not. Students may want to determine the transfer policy of a specific college before registering for a Bridge Program course. To obtain an official transcript or to have a transcript sent to another instruction, a student submits a written request to the University of Evansville registrar. Each student enrolled in the Bridge Program receives a UE library card and a UE parking permit. |
