PERSONAL BROCHURE

You will make a brochure that promotes yourself! Use your skill and make this brochure uniquely your own.  If you are artistic, use your own drawings.  If you are a poet, include a poem you have written.  If you are funny, make your brochure humorous.  If you are a whiz on your home computer, use your talent to make your brochure a masterpiece.

 

You will fold your papers so that there are three sections on both sides of your brochure. 

 

Front Flap:            your name, a photograph (or drawing) of yourself,

and a short caption

 

Back Flap:                    Must be a brief essay (minimum of 10

sentences) describing in detail your first day or first week of high school.  Be DESCRIPTIVE!!

Rest of Brochure:   - you must include five illustrations (pictures, drawings, symbols, etc)

-         a family timeline

-         five paragraphs (a minimum of four sentences and remember to proofread).

 

All of the illustrations and writing should tell someone who reads the brochure something about YOU!  Examples of possible paragraph topics include:

          brothers and/or sisters                       “little known facts” about you

          hobbies/special interests                     friends

          vacations/travels                                memorable experiences

          school activities (clubs, sports, etc)      community activities

          goals/dreams                                      family traditions/holidays

 

Family Timeline:      Your family timeline can be placed along the bottom of the brochure.  You should begin in the 60s or 70s and end with the present (2006).  Label events such as weddings, birthdays, graduations, trips, and other special events.

 

 

 

Grading:                                   Total 35 points

Your name, picture and caption on front (5pts)

Five illustrations (1pt each = 5pts possible)

Five paragraphs on a variety of topics (3pts each = 15 pts)

Family timeline (5pts)
